What gets the equivalent
of 1,000 miles per
gallon, doesn't pollute,
will save the world,
and transports you in
breezy style? Your bike.

Adventure Cycling Route Network

Adventure Cycling's Routes & Mapping Department carefully links together rural roads to create low-traffic bike routes through some of the nation's most scenic and historically significant terrain. This bicycle route network was started in 1976 with the TransAmerica Bicycle Trail. Since then, it has blossomed into an awe-inspiring network of 38,158 miles. See an overview of our routes.

Adventure Cycling's 44,500 members help to ensure that bicyclists from around the world can enjoy cycling in America using routes that are selected, designed, and mapped by bicyclists, for bicyclists.

SUPPORT THE ADVENTURE CYCLING ROUTE NETWORK
Donate today to support the research and development of new routes as well as the maintenance of the 38,158 miles of existing routes in the Adventure Cycling Route Network. You can also sponsor a mile (or entire map panel) along the TransAmerica Trail, the Pacific Coast Route, the Lewis & Clark Trail, or the Great Divide Route.
